The property of " Château DE COSTIS " dating from the XXth century, spreads over 136 hectares of which 111 hectares of vines. It is located 3 km from Targon and 40 km from Bordeaux.
The property has :
- Modern winery with a total capacity of 18 000 Hl on a surface of 1600 m2
- Offices of exploitation
- A hangar
- 16 employees
The vineyard is on average 20 years old and is managed in a reasoned culture with a traditional work on the vine with :
- the fall of the wood
- de-budding
- splitting of the vines
- trellising
- thinning if necessary
With a plantation density of 3,300 vines per hectare spread over most of the property.
The grapes are harvested mechanically with a parcel-by-parcel vinification.
Once harvested and sorted, the grapes are aged in vats.
When the wine is finished, it does not undergo any trauma because the bottling, the packaging and the preparation of the orders are done at the property, which allows to have a total traceability.
This control of the whole chain allows the owner to sell most of his harvests directly as well as through the Bordeaux wine trade.
