The property of " Château PICON " has 115 hectares including 88 hectares of vines.
It is composed of a magnificent château and its outbuildings, a stainless steel and concrete vat house with a capacity of 6,000 Hl plus 4,000 Hl, 2 buildings with a surface area of 500m2 and 200m2, a sales, customer reception and tasting store, a bottling cellar (1,500 Hl of lined cement vats, an equipment shed of 250m2, magnificent gîtes and stables)
The vineyard is on average 25 years old. With a planting density of 4300 vines per hectare, it is in perfect working order with full equipment.
The attentive care taken throughout the year allows us to obtain grapes of impeccable quality.
Once harvested and sorted in the cellar, the grapes are entirely destemmed and put into stainless steel tanks. The wines are matured with rigor and precision in the respect of the Bordeaux tradition. The final blending and bottling are done at the property about two years after the harvest.
The passion and the love of the wine allow the owner to see his wines rewarded among
the most prestigious international competitions.
For many years, "Château Picon" has been opening its estate to visitors in order to understand the vine in a different way.
Indeed, in the heart of the vineyard, a daily equestrian activity has been created, thus going hand in hand with the development of a wine tourism project on the property.
The objective is to take horse-drawn carriage rides to discover the vineyard where history, terroirs, nature and wines are mixed.
The ride ends with a visit of the superb cellar with tasting of the different wines of the domain.
The château also offers its visitors the possibility of sleeping either in the château itself or in top-of-the-range gîtes specially designed for wine tourism. They can thus fully enjoy the estate and the region over several days.
